Where ever we go we should always make it a point to show kindness. We never know what people are going through on a daily basis whether mentally, emotionally, physically or financially.
Make it a point today and always to have consideration for others and show a little kindness.  Love and kindness is what this world needs more each day.

Happy week-end and make it a sweet one!!

We are having Pizza since it is Pizza week and for dessert I am making a very "special chocolate sweet cake" that my family loves. It is quick and easy and I would like to share the recipe for you and your family. This is not a fancy looking cake, just a very moist delicious one. I have been making this since 1972 and I hope you enjoy as much as we have.

CHOCOLATE SWEET CAKE

Sift together:
2 cups sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon soda

combine:
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup water 
2 sticks butter (calls for margarine, I use butter)

Bring to boil and pour into dry mixture. Add cup of sour cream and mix. Add 2 eggs, one tab vanilla and mix thoroughly. Grease and flour sheet pan (9x12) 

ICING: 

1/2 cup milk 

1 stick butter

1 box confectioner sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Rainy Days

Gear up for a few days of rain. Time to clean closets, drawers, and closet shelves or just cuddling in front of a really warm fire and watching old movies with a good hot drink! Baking some of your favorite sweets, breads and cookies on a rainy or just relaxing is one of my favorite things to do.
Headed back to my comfy place....on my sofa listening to the rain and watching old movies.

Toccoa Falls Day Trip

We took a short road trip today to see the beautiful sights of Stephens County, Toccoa Falls. What a great little hike with the family and such a gorgeous view of the Falls. The mist coming from the Falls was very cool and refreshing.  

Toccoa seems to be a very slow pace little Historical town with many unique Shops and Restaurants. Very laid back as you walk through the streets enjoying the scenery. 

Very pedestrian and vehicle friendly.

That Beautiful White stuff!!

Today has been a bit cold and temperature was 18 when we got up this morning in GA. I'm sure others have experienced much lower temps her in the good old USA. We are happy to say that our day tomorrow should be much better as the temp will be around 40 and ALL of the snow will be GONE!!
Ok, today I decided that we should go to the grocery store for a few items needed. Oh boy...what an ordeal. I can't ice skate at all but we truck skated around for about 20 minutes. Needless to say we were more than happy to pull in the driveway. Mission accomplished...lol

A much better way to spend our time.  A hike in the woods with "B" and a great time for pictures!
